Welcoming New Faculty: Ahmed Alhilou

Alhilou has been pursuing an ITI Implant Fellowship with the UF Center for Implant Dentistry since August 2020.

On October 29, Ahmed Alhilou, B.D.S., M.S., joined the faculty of the UF Department of Restorative Dental Sciences Division of Prosthodontics.

Alhilou attended the University of Leeds, England, where he earned his dental degree, his master’s in clinical dentistry and completed post-graduate specialist training in Prosthodontics. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh, United Kingdom.

Alhilou has been pursuing an ITI Implant Fellowship with the UF Center for Implant Dentistry since August 2019. During his fellowship he cared for patients with a wide range of treatment needs allowing him to gain experience in complex treatment planning, surgical and restorative procedures, implant maintenance, and digital and laboratory technology to design and create 3D surgical templates. As part of his fellowship activities at UF, Alhilou instructed dental students, and prosthodontics residents, and oral and maxillofacial residents on the use of digital technology and implant dentistry.

As a member of faculty, his major focus is delivering didactic, preclinical and clinical instruction for dental students on topics related to prosthodontics, and general and operative dentistry. He is also providing care in the college’s UF Health Faculty Dental Practice.
