Patel and Gamboa were selected by UFCD faculty to represent the UF College of Dentistry at the Hinman Student Research Symposium.

The college is one of just two dental schools in the U.S. that received the 2023 Health Professions Higher Education Excellence in Diversity Award.

A 1974 graduate of South Dakota State University, she was one of just six alumni to receive this award in 2023.
