College of Dentistry students on a service trip to the Dominican Republic

The University of Florida College of Dentistry has a long history of volunteering and providing care to underserved communities around the world. The college has established partnerships with several institutions including:

  • Universidad San Francisco de Quito (USFQ) in Quito, Ecuador
  • Universidad Catolica Nordestana (UCNE) in San Francisco de Macoris, Dominican Republic
  • Swami Vivekanada University Subharti Dental College, Meerut, India

Our volunteer dental students and faculty travel to several countries each year and continue to make a significant and long-lasting contribution to global oral health. These trips are amazing windows into foreign cultures and provide unique opportunities to our students for personal and professional development. Students and faculty interested in participating should contact Dr. Micaela Gibbs, Interim Chair of the Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Sciences and Director of Global Service Programs.
