Donatelli Appointed Program Director

Dr. Richard DonatelliIn August, Richard Donatelli, D.M.D., who had been serving as assistant program director for the University of Florida Orthodontics Residency Program since July 2018, was appointed program director. He is an assistant professor in orthodontics.

His duties include directing all aspects of orthodontics advanced education including compliance with Commission on Dental Accreditation standards, developing and implementing curriculum, evaluating resident performance and clinical outcomes.

Donatelli earned bachelor’s degrees in political science and biological science from Florida Atlantic University then attended the UF College of Dentistry where he earned his dental degree in 2000 and his master’s of science in orthodontics in 2008.

He has experience working in private practice in general dentistry and orthodontics. Donatelli joined the college as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Orthodontics in 2011. Donatelli also teaches predoctoral and graduate courses in the clinic and classroom settings for orthodontics and pediatric dental residents. He also provides care for patients in the UF Health Orthodontics Faculty Practice.

He is a member of the Angle Society of Orthodontists and the American Dental Education Association.
