2013 sealant program in full swing

13 a Jennicia Potter (child) - DMD student Linda Troung 2The Alachua County School Based Sealant program, a joint effort that between the University of Florida College of Dentistry and United Way of North Central Florida, targets second- and sixth-grade students in dentally underserved public schools with high levels of disease and low levels of dental sealants. The program will serve 16 elementary and middle schools this academic year.

The 2013 effort launched in October and is in full swing. On Nov. 19, second-year dental students from the University of Florida, along with faculty and staff, visited Idylwild Elementary School to apply sealants and fluoride varnish.
