Dolan to serve on NIH advisory council

Teresa A. Dolan, D.D.S., M.P.H., professor and dean of the University of Florida College of Dentistry, was appointed to serve a four-year term on the National Advisory Dental and Craniofacial Research Council of the National Institutes of Health beginning December 2011.

The council advises, assists, consults with and makes recommendations to the secretary of Health and Human Services and the director of the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR) on regarding activities and policies of the NIDCR.

The NIDCR was established in 1948 and has a mission to improve oral, dental and craniofacial health through research, research training and the dissemination of health information. The NIDCR supports basic and clinical research, conducts and funds training and career development programs for investigators, coordinates and assists relevant research and activities, and promotes the transfer of knowledge that is gained from research to the public, health professionals, researchers and policy-makers.
