About Marcelle Nascimento

I joined the University of Florida College of Dentistry (UFCD) in 2007 as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Operative Dentistry. In 2015, I was promoted to Associate Professor with tenure, and in 2022, I was promoted to Full Professor. Cariology research and teaching are my main professional assignments at UFCD. I have been conducting several research projects in the areas of Cariology, Oral Microbiology, Pediatric Dentistry, and Dental Education. I am the director of the Cariology and Preventive Dentistry course offered to our 1DN students. I am also actively engaged in the teaching of preclinical and clinical Cariology and Operative Dentistry for both undergraduate and graduate programs. I have served as President of the IADR Cariology Research group (2015-2016), I am the current chair of the ADEA Cariology section, and I serve as a member of the American Academy of Cariology Board of Directors as Chair of the Research Section Pillar.
