About Cesar A Migliorati
Now a professor in the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences, Migliorati served as associate dean for Clinical Affairs and Quality at UFCD from 2017 until March 2021.
In a year that challenged the nation and world, and especially those on the front lines in health care, Migliorati played a crucial role in the UFCD response to the COVID-19 pandemic, coordinating efforts with UF Health experts in infection control and epidemiology, assuring access to personal protective equipment for dental students, providers and staff, and putting in place new infection control protocols.
In May 2019, Migliorati was appointed president of the American Board of Oral Medicine and subsequently served a one-year term in the role.
During his four years as associate dean, Migliorati made important and lasting contributions to the college and broader community. In addition to a wealth of experience and insights, and applied a data-driven approach to make meaningful enhancements to UFCD patient care, safety and quality.
Under his leadership and with great support from his team, the college reorganized its clinical administration to improve workflow and efficiency. Working closely with Luisa Echeto, D.D.S., M.S., and other colleagues, Migliorati implemented a new DMD-patient screening process to standardize patient selection and centralized sterilization processes to enhance quality.
His current research collaborations focus on supportive care in cancer and the oral complications of cancer therapy. Migliorati also has a comprehensive clinical background, having worked in clinical dentistry during his entire career both academically and in private practice.
