About Poliana Mendes Duarte

Dr. Poliana Mendes Duarte is an Associate Professor in the Department of Periodontology at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. She earned her DDS, Master of Science, and PhD in Periodontology at Campinas State University in Brazil, where she also completed advanced training in periodontics. Dr. Duarte provides comprehensive periodontal and implant care. Her clinical expertise includes surgical and non-surgical periodontal therapy, regenerative procedures, bone and soft tissue grafting, dental implants, and the treatment of peri-implant diseases. Alongside her clinical practice, Dr. Duarte is an active researcher with more than 120 publications in high-impact scientific journals. Her work focuses on periodontics and implant dentistry, particularly the influence of systemic conditions such as diabetes and smoking on treatment outcomes. She frequently presents her research at national and international conferences.
