About Astrid Daher Achi

Dr. Astrid Daher Achi comes to the University of Florida as a clinical assistant professor after completing 2 years General Practice Residency as a Chief Resident at BronxCare Health System in Bronx, New York .After that she completed a 2 years AEGD program at University of Rochester. For a number of years, Dr. Daher Achi did private practice as a General Dentist and Specialist in Pediatric Dentistry in Guayaquil, Ecuador .

In 2018-2019, while doing her AEGD program, she also pursued a Fellowship in Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental and Related Disorders (LEND) at the University of Rochester, Ny.

Dr. Daher Achi graduated in 2008 and received her Dental degree from the Universidad de Guayaquil, Pilot School of Dentistry in Ecuador. Receiving the Contenta Award the University highest recognition for students with the highest GPA during Dental School. Dr. Daher Achi as well completed a Specialty in Pediatric Dentistry from the Universidad del Salvador, Buenos Aires, Argentina.

From 2010 to 2017,in Guayaquil, Ecuador she was a professor at the Catholic University of Santiago de Guayaquil and at the Universidad de Guayaquil , Pilot School of Dentistry in the Division of Pediatric Dentistry and Cariology.

In 2013- 2014 she occupied the position as the Director Hospital Dental Department at the Hospital Universitario de Guayaquil, when she was working for the Ministry of Public Health Zone 8.

2016- 2017 also participated as a TV Host for Catholic University Television Medical-Dental Program Host. “Viva Mejorˮ.

As faculty member I enjoy sharing my knowledge, experiences and to continue doing what it has being my passion for more than 11 years, teach and treat patients, become an integral part of their life during their physical, mental and emotional development, serve the underserved, and give them better treatment options encouraging healthy lifestyles, trying to avoid dental-medical complications and bringing back beautiful smiles. I intend to become a model of encouragement to others, especially to my students, serve the local community in a public and private practice settings and continue to be involved in volunteer work and leadership experiences. I’m excited to further my career goals as a faculty member bringing my desire to work as a team and my tremendous enthusiasm of teaching and keep learning as I consider is never enough, it just makes you better and stronger.
