Matthew Cooke, DDS, MD, MPH has joined the University of Florida, College of Dentistry as the Program Director and Professor in Pediatric Dentistry. Previously, he was part of the Departments of Dental Anesthesiology & Pediatric Dentistry at the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Dental Medicine, where he had been since April 2011. Dr. Cooke is a board-certified pediatric dentist and dentist anesthesiologist. He earned both his dental and medical degrees from Virginia Commonwealth University’s Medical College of Virginia, followed by residencies in pediatric dentistry and anesthesiology. He also holds a master’s in public health

Dr. Cooke is fully committed to advancing the profession. In addition to his expertise in patient care and research, he has actively contributed to shaping dental education. He continues to be a strong advocate for sedation and anesthesia in dentistry, with a focus on expanding access to dental care.

At the University of Florida, Dr. Cooke looks forward to supporting a world-class residency program and training the next generation of outstanding pediatric dentists.
