About Jia Chang

Dr. Jia Chang is an Associate Professor with tenure in the Department of Periodontology at the University of Florida. Dr. Chang completed his D.D.S. and Oral & Maxillofacial surgery resident training in China in 2003. He completed his periodontal resident training at the University of Michigan in 2014. He is a Diplomat of the American Board of Periodontology since 2015. His research interests are in bone biology and tissue engineering to repair bone loss in inflammatory diseases, such as periodontitis and periimplantitis. Dr. Chang has published more than 30 articles related to bone inflammation and tissue regeneration in the top dental and medical journals such as Nature Medicine, PNAS, and Journal of Dental Research. Dr. Chang is involved in teaching periodontal residents and D.M.D. students and is part of intramural faculty practice.
