Maria G Caraballo, DDS

Dr. Maria G. Caraballo is an Adjunct Clinical Associate Professor within the Division of Operative Dentistry at the University of Florida’s College of Dentistry. Since her arrival in 2015, Dr. Caraballo has been a dedicated figure, actively engaged in guiding and supervising dental students and residents through both pre-clinical activities and clinical practice. She serves as an assistant course director for fundamental courses such as Dental Anatomy and Stomatognathic pre-clinical courses and Cariology courses. Her passion for education extends to leading the Spanish in Dentistry elective course and sharing her expertise on Dental Ergonomics, emphasizing practical training in four-handed dentistry and dental isolation techniques during her engaging lectures and activities.

Beyond her academic roles, Dr. Caraballo generously volunteers her time to conduct Ergonomic Workshops for aspiring dental professionals at ASDA Pre-Dental events, demonstrating her dedication to nurturing the next generation of dentists. Known for her mentorship capabilities, she has been selected for various advisory positions, including Class Advisor for the DMD Class of 2021, and as an Advisor for student organizations like UF ASDA Pre-Dental Association, Hispanic Dental Student Association, and UF Christian Dental Society.

Dr. Caraballo initially earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Universidad Santa Maria in Caracas, Venezuela, in 2001. Transitioning from private practice to academia, she has continued to enrich her skills and knowledge, and currently pursuing her fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry by finishing the 2-years Comprehensive Dental Program at the University of Florida. She is currently a member of professional dental organizations such as the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Venezuelan Dental Association, and the American Dental Education Association (ADEA). Dr. Caraballo is dedicated to fostering a supportive learning environment to ensure her students thrive in their dental education.
