About Maria G Caraballo
Dr. Maria G. Caraballo is an Adjunct Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Operative Dentistry in the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences. Dr. Caraballo joined the College of Dentistry at the University of Florida in 2015. Since then, she has been involved in pre-clinical activities and supervising dental students and residents in clinical settings. Dr. Caraballo is a course director for the Dental Anatomy and Stomatognathic course and assistant course director for the Cariology and Preventive Dentistry course. For the past six years, Dr. Caraballo has lectured about Dental Ergonomics, incorporating a hands-on activity in four-handed dentistry and dental isolation. She also volunteers in ergonomic workshops for pre-dental students. She is currently mentoring dental students and was selected as Class Advisor for the Class of 2021.
Dr. Caraballo is currently enrolled in a Comprehensive Dental Program 2-year program with the Academy of General Dentistry. Dr. Caraballo earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2001 from the Universidad Santa Maria, Caracas, Venezuela. After working in private practice as an associate dentist involved in patient care devoted to prevention, restorative dentistry, and esthetics. Dr. Caraballo decided to pursue an academic career. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the National Dental Practice-Based Research Network, the Venezuelan Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, and a member of the American Dental Education Association (ADEA). Dr. Caraballo brings a positive environment by guiding and helping students to excel during their dental training.
