Jason Buschman, DDS,MEd

Dr. Buschman was born in St. Louis and attended Truman State University where he received a Bachelors in Biological Sciences. After college Dr. Buschman attended The University of Oklahoma College of Dentistry receiving his D.D.S. graduating with distinction, second in his class, he stayed at The University of Oklahoma obtaining his Certificate of Residency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from the College of Medicine and Dentistry. While in residency he focused on orthognathic surgery and was able to complete an internship in South Africa with world renowned Professor Johan Ryneke. Dr. Buschman furthered his academic career by obtaining a Master of Education from Cameron University, and put it to use teaching part time at The University of Oklahoma, while maintaining a very lucrative private practice in southern Oklahoma for 16 years. In 2004 Dr. Buschman became board certified and passed his recertification exam in 2014. In 2015 Dr. Buschman accepted a full-time faculty appointment at Southern Illinois University School of Dental Medicine and in 2018 was recruited to help start the hospital section of Oral and maxillofacial Surgery at East Carolina University, Vidant Medical Center. Dr. Buschman has been teaching full time since 2015, but desired to have more patient contact which has drawn him back to private practice, yet after a 3 year break in full time academics he accepted a position at the University of Florida. He continues to teach and lecture around the world on multiple continuing education topics. Dr. Buschman is licensed in Florida, Oklahoma and Missouri and is a member of all component societies including fellowship in American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. As a highly trained Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon Dr. Buschman can perform cleft lip and palate surgery, facial reconstructive surgery, reconstructive Jaw surgery, treatment of cancer and other tumors, Facial trauma and reconstruction, Facial Cosmetic surgery, along with General anesthesia, IV Sedation, Nitrous Oxide, and Local anesthesia. Dr. Buschman enjoys boating, hunting, all sports, and is a USA rugby certified coach and referee.
