About Eric Bauman
Dr. Eric Bauman is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences: Operative Division. A native of Portland, Oregon, he completed his bachelor’s degree at Villanova University (Villanova, PA) utilizing a Navy ROTC scholarship in 2002. He subsequently received his DMD at Oregon Health Sciences University (Portland, OR) utilizing a Navy HPSP scholarship in 2006. After graduation, he was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps and completed an Advanced Education in General Dentistry program in Okinawa (Japan) in 2007. His Navy career included tours to Okinawa (Japan), Yokosuka (Japan), Diego Garcia (B.I.O.T.), Virginia, Maryland and Guam which included service as the Senior Dental Officer aboard two ships, USS Blue Ridge (LCC-19) and USS Frank Cable (AS 40). He achieved Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 2011 and he completed a master’s degree at the Navy Postgraduate Dental School (Bethesda, MD) with a certificate in Comprehensive Dentistry in 2014. He subsequently achieved Diplomate status with the American Board of General Dentistry in 2016. Upon leaving the Navy in 2019 he assumed a full-time faculty position at the University of Florida College of Dentistry. He currently maintains active dental licenses in Florida, Oregon and Guam.

Dr. Bauman enjoys all facets of dentistry however his passion is for patient education, prevention, direct and indirect dental services, restoration of implants and digital dentistry.
