Educating, supporting, and empowering students in their understanding of entrepreneurship, leadership, and business as it relates to the field of dentistry.
Our mission is to challenge the status quo of what defines a great dental student and great dentist. By educating, supporting, and empowering students in their understanding of entrepreneurship, leadership, and business we hope to usher in the dentists of the future. As the field of dentistry continues to evolve, we believe it is imperative that students have the tools to be effective leaders for their patients and their staff. We are committed to improving the field of dentistry one student at a time.
The purpose of this club is to help students better understand which path of dentistry best suits them and supply them with the tools needed to take that route. We want students to leave UFCD with confidence that they are capable clinicians, leaders, and entrepreneurs. By connecting students with experienced leaders in the dental field and building a collaborative environment we expect to meet this purpose.
The UF Student Dental Business Organization (UFSDBO) was co-founded in 2021 by Jesse LeBrecht, Bailey Singletary and Jack Pohler with the gracious guidance and support of our faculty advisor Dr. Larry Cook. Each of these respective parties value the business of dentistry, and hold excellence in business practices, and networking with other experts on all aspects of business. We recognize the importance of understanding the business of dentistry and hope to build a platform that exposes and allows dental students to understand these critical aspects dentistry.
SDBO will provide lectures, lunch and learns, and workshops from dentists and other dental professionals meant to enhance student dentists knowledge and appreciation of the business of dentistry. The goal of SDBO is to provide a platform for students to connect with dental professionals and to provide a broad understanding of the business of dentistry.
