UF College of Dentistry’s Pediatric Dentistry Interest Group
Pediatric patients see us not just as dentists, but also as role models.
To expose the dental student to an education that normally may not be given in dental school in order to make the student a more competent future dentist. To emphasize the principles of education, knowledge, and community service and to encourage the development of a standardized dental education including postgraduate education and specialization. To increase the knowledge necessary for dental students who desire to complete a General Practice, Pediatric, or Special Needs Residency.
LEARN • Interactive Lunch & Learns with pediatric faculty • Annual Resident Panel to discuss residency, applications, and beyond! SERVE • UFCD/Community Volunteer Events geared towards educating and interacting with children in the community and surrounding cities. INSPIRE • Learn to develop your inner mentor! Pediatric patients see us not just as dentists, but also as role models. Your impact on them is life-long!
We are a dental mentoring, educating, and community-involved pediatric club provided by the UFCD students as a chapter of the AAPD.
Any and all DMD students are welcome to join Smiley Gator, regardless if they have an interest in pediatric dentistry or not! Students can hone in on their desire to give back to our community’s children, as well as further grow as a future healthcare provider.
