PIG
Mission
Our goal is to provide informative and interactive platforms which engage students and allow them to connect with faculty and leaders in prosthodontics. Through engagement, we enrich our learning experience and build on foundational education in order to make informed decisions as students and future practitioners.
PIG
Purpose
Prosthodontics Interest Group aims to explore the specialty field of Prosthodontics as recognized by the ADA and build interest among students as we advance through our dental education.

About Us
Through casual and formal interaction with experts in the field, we wish to build an understanding of the scope, complexity, and fundamentals of Prosthodontics. By engaging with faculty, graduate students, and peers, we can build a knowledge base and have fun in the process! We aim to inform students on the scope of prosthodontics practice, prospective careers, graduate programs and the application process, research in the field, and new technologies. In educating ourselves we educate our future – with a better understanding of prosthodontics we can more fully realize the importance it has not only as a stand-alone specialty but also as a pillar of general practice. Prosthodontics encompasses training in esthetics/cosmetics, crowns, bridges, veneers, inlays, complete and removable partial dentures, dental implants, TMD-jaw joint problems, traumatic injuries to the mouth’s structures, congenital or birth anomalies to teeth, snoring, sleep disorders, and oral cancer reconstruction and continuing care.

What We Can Do For You
We hold at least one event a semester in which we can interact with Prosthodontics professionals. These events include platforms from casual Q&A sessions held off-campus to more formal lectures. Our goal is to engage and connect with faculty, experts in the field, graduate students, and peers who have a similar interest in prosthodontics! We also act as a liaison for students to get formally involved through the American College of Prosthodontics. There are also opportunities for leadership within our interest group.
