The mission of the UF Dental Esthetics Society is to inform, reinforce, and introduce advanced techniques and methodology in the art of esthetic dentistry, with the purpose of optimizing esthetic outcomes and clinical excellence for current and future practice.

The purpose of the UF Dental Esthetics Society is to educate students on the advanced techniques and materials used in biomimetic dentistry outside the scope of dental school. Throughout the year, lectures will be presented by faculty, outside practicing dentists accredited with the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) , as well as AACD representatives. These lectures will include, but not be limited to, detailing the process of optimizing esthetic outcomes, incorporating esthetic dentistry into a private practice setting, excellence in dental photography, and student involvement in the AACD including CE and networking opportunities. As the organization progresses, we will begin to incorporate hands-on workshops for students to engage in and perfect techniques.

The UF Dental Esthetics Society (UFDES) was founded in 2021 by Francesca G. Maurici with the gracious guidance and support of faculty advisor Dr. Andre Figueiredo Reis and Executive Board members of the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD). Each of these respective parties value the art of esthetic dentistry, and hold excellence in patient management and esthetic outcomes to the utmost priority.

Our goal is to expand and enhance student dentists appreciation for the art of esthetic and cosmetic dentistry through lectures and workshops including, but not limited to: detailing the process of optimizing esthetic outcomes, incorporating esthetic dentistry into a private practice setting, excellence in dental photography, and student involvement in the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD).
