Dr. Harold Shinitzky, a licensed psychologist with experience advising Olympic and professional athletes, delivered a powerful presentation.
The integrated, medical-model discussion explored the consequences of long-term stress and identified the adverse impacts of mental distress on our physical health. Following the main keynote, breakout sessions provided a more personal and interactive forum to explore the topics of stress and resilience.

Meditation with Singing Bowls
Christina Ryan led a meditation session focused on sound, designed to guide the nervous system out of fight-or-flight and into a parasympathetic state with crystal singing bowls. As participants listened to the vibrational sounds, their minds were calmed and their bodies’ natural ability to restore balance supported.

Mindful Drawing & Walking Meditation
Led by Maria Leite and Christina Ryan, these 30-minute sessions combined intuitive drawing with a mindful meditation walk. The goals were to work on awareness of the breath in coordination with walking and drawing. Also, to reflect and analyze your experience with the expressive art activity.
