The event recognizes the many people who contribute to the excellence of the UF College of Dentistry's educational programs.
The award recognized the UF student research group for their achievements throughout the year that continue to foster awareness of research in dentistry.
The Comprehensive Training Program, or CTP, was founded in 1990 to train the next generation of outstanding researchers, academics and leaders.
Chukkapalli will focus on a research project, “P. gingivalis mediated disruption of autophagy in endothelial dysfunction."
He will be responsible for identifying and cultivating major gifts for the college, fundraising plans and policies, and building alumni relationships.
Dr. Shields became a research assistant professor in the Department of Oral Biology in July 2017.
