Heft was a professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and director of the Claude D. Pepper Center for Oral Health in Aging.

Hamrick earned his dental and medical degrees, completed the OMFS residency program and a general surgery internship - all at the University of Florida.
