Faculty Assembly

Committee Composition

The membership of the Assembly will be composed of all full-time faculty of the College of Dentistry. Additionally included will be the Chief of the Dental Service of the Gainesville Veterans Administration Medical Center and one compensated part-time faculty representative elected by the compensated part-time faculty of the college for a two-year term.

All members of the Faculty Assembly will have all the privileges of membership, including the right to vote, nominate, and receive all communications of the Assembly.

Individual Faculty Member Responsibilities

All full-time faculty of the college are members of the Faculty Assembly and are expected to attend bi-monthly meetings which are held in the months of January, March, May, July, September, and November. Meetings are held from 12:00-1:30 p.m. in D3-3 on the Wednesday of the designated month (unless affected by an official holiday). In addition to full-time faculty, the Chief of the Dental Service of the Gainesville Veterans Administration Medical Center and one compensated part-time faculty representative elected by the compensated part-time faculty of the college for a two-year term are included as members. Each member of the Faculty Assembly has all the privileges of membership, including the right to vote, nominate and receive all communications of the Assembly.

Time commitment: Approximately 2 hours every other month and one annual faculty retreat.

Faculty Assembly meetings will be held from 12 – 1:30 p.m. in room D3-3, unless otherwise noted.
