Andre Reis, D.D.S., M.S., Ph.D., was appointed the senior director of Faculty and Extramural Practices for the University of Florida College of Dentistry, or UFCD, effective July 1, 2025.

A clinical professor in the UF Department of Restorative Dental Sciences Division of Operative Dentistry, Reis has been the director of the college’s faculty practice since July 2023. In his new role, he’ll retain the responsibilities he currently has overseeing all aspects of the college faculty practice in Gainesville, and take on additional duties related to college dental practices in Hialeah, Naples, St. Petersburg/Seminole and Wildlight. Reis will serve as a liaison between clinical program directors at extramural sites and the UFCD associate dean for advanced and graduate education on patient care matters to identify best practices.

“As our clinical enterprise expands it’s of critical importance that we maintain consistent operations at all our locations and apply best practices in each center, while being sensitive to the different types of populations we serve in each area and to the educational missions in Hialeah, Naples and St. Petersburg/Seminole,” said Dean A. Isabel Garcia, D.D.S., M.P.H. “Given his substantial experience as a clinician, educator and practice administration, Dr. Reis is uniquely well positioned to work with our extramural practices and find commonalities and opportunities to problem solve common concerns.”

UF College of Dentistry

In addition to the main Gainesville campus, the college has advanced education programs in general dentistry in Hialeah and St. Petersburg, a pediatric residency program in Naples, and our newest clinical practice site in Wildlight. Our college is the top dental safety net provider for many Florida residents, including individuals who are Medicaid and Medicare beneficiaries. In addition, with substantial support from community organizations and philanthropic groups, we provide care to children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in our Gainesville, Naples, St. Petersburg and Hialeah dental centers.
