The annual student-led TalDent event once again showcased the many talents of our DMD students and a little bit of faculty and staff flair too!
Bakeoff
Held in the HPNP building, attendees first sampled baked goods created with love by 15 DMD students and then voted for their winning choice. Thank you to Sai Malakapalli, Pooja Bangera, Shannon Chen, Julie Vu, Amber Miller, Jordan Ranfone, Isabella Menendez, Vincent Leffler, Grace Borer, Lucille Alpert, Abby Tenniswood, Shauna Cooley, Madi Hersch, Alexa Souto and Claudia Galindo for bringing in their specialties. Congratulations to Julie Vu, who won this portion of TalDent!
Talent Show
Competitors in the talent show sang, danced, showed their artwork, played the piano and performed standup comedy. The audience enjoyed talent from Dr. Olga Ensz and the Flossy Ladies; Dr. Nada Abousorrieh; Sander Tang, Benjamin Vantoorenburg; Nanditha Rajini; Brooke Cary; the MANelons (Krupa Patel, Diana Rodriguez, Paulina Kalantarov, and Dominique Stackhouse). No one was expecting to see a moonwalk in the middle of Sander Tang‘s standup routine but in addition to his on-point imitation and natural sense of comedic timing, turns out he has dance moves too! And for that, he earned top prize from the judges.
