Gerard Krueger, D.D.S., M.S., FACP, no stranger to the UF College of Dentistry, re-joined UFCD’s St. Petersburg Dental Center in July as a clinical associate professor and team leader. Krueger is responsible for both didactic and clinical oversight of the college’s accredited Advanced Education in General Dentistry, or AEGD, program in St. Petersburg, where he is monitoring the individual success of the college’s AEGD residents and their progress towards competency and graduation.
As part of the St. Petersburg team, Krueger helps with patient-care management, seminar teaching, case presentation and more, while ensuring timely treatment of patients, quality assurance and an efficient clinical operation.
A board-certified prosthodontist, Krueger previously spent over two decades at the college as a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences, Division of Prosthodontics, in Gainesville where he provided clinical instruction and guidance to prosthodontics residents, while also serving as a courtesy assistant professor in St. Petersburg teaching advanced education in the prosthodontics specialty to the AEGD residents through literature review, discussion and demonstrations.
In 2017, Krueger moved to St. Louis, Missouri, to serve as the Specialty Care Unit Director at the A.T. Still University of Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Health where he developed and implemented all D3 & D4 prosthodontic didactic sessions, developed and executed patient treatment plans to cover all required competencies, and managed all prosthodontic clinic procedures as the only full-time prosthodontist during his time there.
He earned an Outstanding Specialty Faculty Award in 2019, and served as the president of Omicron Kappa Upsilon dental honor society’s Beta Lambda chapter.
Krueger earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Marquette University, and his master’s degree in prosthodontics at the University of Iowa.
Since the beginning of his career, he has orchestrated the start-up and growth of his successful private practice that offers both restorative and general dental care, while operating an in-house commercial dental lab with a full-time certified dental technician that helps produce products in a timely manner, not only for his practice, but for other local dentists as well.
