On October 3, Scott Denton, D.D.S., joined the UF Department of Restorative Dental Sciences as a clinical assistant professor in the Divisions of General Dentistry.
Denton’s focus is as a team leader, supervising dental students’ treatment planning and oral health care in the college’s student dental care centers. He is also providing direct patient care in the UF Health Faculty Dental Practice.
Denton earned his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering 1987 from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville and worked as a mechanical engineer from 1988 to 1995, before returning to school to pursue a dental career. After earning his dental degree in 1999 University of Tennessee Health Science Center in Memphis, Denton worked in private practice until 2018 when he joined the faculty of LECOM School of Dental Medicine in Bradenton, Florida, and managed the dental center for senior dental students.
