Welcoming New Faculty: Varsha Desai

Varsha DesaiOn August 2, Varsha Desai, D.M.D., joins the college as the new clinic director for UF Health Dentistry – Wildlight in Yulee. She will be a member UF Department of Restorative Dental Sciences as a clinical assistant professor, moving to Jacksonville, Florida, from Ohio where she owned and grew a very successful private practice in Lebanon for 11 years.

She brings 30 years of experience as a business owner and solo private practice dentist to her new position that includes a full range of patient care including restorative dentistry, prosthetics, periodontology, endodontics, oral surgery and pediatric dental care. Desai will be responsible for managing all aspects of the dental center and providing care for patients in the Wildlight center, which offers comprehensive oral health care for the whole family in one convenient location.

Desai earned a bachelor of dental surgery from the University of Bombay in India in 1991. In 1998, she earned her doctor of dental medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania.

Desai is a member of the American Dental Association, the Ohio Dental Association and the Dayton Dental Society and has been an active member of her local community.
