On April 15, Sherif Hosney, B.D.S., M.S., joined the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences Division of Prosthodontics as a clinical assistant professor. His efforts are devoted to prosthodontics education for dental students and residents, and patient care in the UF Health Faculty Dental Practice.
He earned his dental degree from Cairo University in 2011, and then earned a certificate in prosthodontics and completed a fellowship in implant surgery, both from the University of Rochester Eastman Institute for Oral Health. He then attended the University of Rochester School of Education where he earned a master’s in health professions education in 2020.
His research interests are in the field of prosthodontics and restorative dentistry, specifically CAD/CAM restorative materials and CAD/CAM generated restorations, impression material, resin cements, fiber posts and dental implants.
Hosney is a Fellow of the American College of Prosthodontists, a Diplomate of the American Boards of Prosthodontics, a member of the American Prosthodontic Society and the Egyptian Dental Association, and a Fellow of the Royal College of Dentists of Canada.
