Due to Hurricane Dorian and its expected impact on state of Florida, University of Florida College of Dentistry clinics throughout the state have taken necessary precautions to ensure the safety of patients, faculty, staff, residents and students at all locations. This has had an impact on our hours and services and we regret any inconvenience for our patients.
Gainesville Dental Centers
- TUESDAY: All UF College of Dentistry clinics and operations are CLOSED along with the University of Florida’s main campus in Gainesville on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
- WEDNESDAY: DMD Dental Centers (where dental students provide care) are CLOSED on Wednesday, September 4. If you are a patient in the DMD center and have an urgent dental issue and need to be seen on Wednesday, please contact us at 352-273-6820. We will have faculty and residents on site to assist with urgent needs.
- WEDNESDAY: All other UF dental centers in Gainesville are OPEN and have a normal schedule. This includes our faculty practice, and all resident/specialty care clinics.
- The University of Florida has cancelled classes on Wednesday, September 4, but all other UF operations are open as normal. Please watch the main UF information page for updates about those plans.

NCEF (Naples) Pediatric Dentistry Center
- TUESDAY: Our center is CLOSED on Tuesday, Sept. 3.
- WEDNESDAY: Our center is OPEN for normal operations on Wednesday, Sept. 4.
- The center is on the campus of Florida SouthWestern State College and follows that college’s decisions about weather scheduling.

- The center is on the campus of St. Petersburg College Seminole Campus and follows that college’s decisions about weather scheduling.
The college will work closely with university and state officials in actively monitoring the track and forecast of Hurricane Dorian, and will update the college’s website and social media channels with more information as it becomes available.
In Gainesville, the University of Florida’s emergency managers are actively monitoring the developing weather and are participating in daily calls with local and state forecasters and emergency managers to learn Hurricane Dorian’s track and impacts. The university will update the greater Gator community on efforts, expected impacts or schedule changes, including the UFCD and Gainesville clinic operations, as information is available.
We encourage everyone throughout the state to follow instructions from state and local government officials. Be safe!
