Welcoming New Faculty: Tridib Ganguly

Dr. Tridib GangulyOn April 2, Tridib Ganguly, Ph.D., M.S., joined the faculty of the UF College of Dentistry as a research assistant scientist in the Department of Oral Biology after having been with the department as a postdoctoral associate since 2014.

Ganguly will be working in the Jose Lemos laboratory which investigates the molecular factors that mediate virulence in the opportunistic gram-positive pathogens Streptococcus mutans and Enterococcus faecalis. S. mutans is a major pathogen in dental caries and a leading causative agent of infective endocarditis.

Ganguly earned his bachelor’s degree in science in 2000 and his master’s degree in biochemistry in 2002, both from the University of Calcutta in India. He then attended Jadavpur University in Kolkata, India, for his doctoral degree, conducting his thesis work at the Bose Institute. From 2011 to 2014, he was a postdoctoral fellow at Wake Forest University in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
