Cassiano Appointed Predoctoral Clinical Program Director for Operative Division

Dr. CassianoOn January 28, 2019, Luisa Schertel Cassiano, D.D.S., M.S., was appointed predoctoral operative clinical program director for the UF Department of Restorative Dental Sciences Division of Operative Dentistry.

In this role, Cassiano will serve as the course director for all operative clinical courses, update and maintain the Operative Clinic Syllabus and Manual, coordinate and deliver the operative clinic orientation for students and assist with clinic scheduling in addition to other duties.

Cassiano will also continue to work on didactic, preclinical and clinical teaching for the predoctoral and the master’s in operative dentistry programs, and providing patient care in the UF Health Faculty Dental Practice.

Cassiano joined the university in July 2017. She earned her dental degree in 2009 from the Federal University Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil; completed a certificate in periodontics and implant dentistry in 2012 at the Instituto de Ensino Pesquisa e Pos-Graduacao in Brasilia, Brazil; and her master’s in health sciences with a focus on periodontology in 2014 from the University of Brasilia. She was an intern at UFCD in the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences in 2016 before joining the faculty.
