Zoidis Appointed Interim Division Director of Prosthodontics

Panagiotis ZoidisIn November 2018, Panagiotis Zoidis, D.D.S., M.S., Ph.D., was appointed interim division director of prosthodontics for the UF College of Dentistry.

His new administrative duties include overall leadership for faculty and staff in the division, overseeing the curriculum, facilitating professional development for prosthodontics faculty members, and working closely with departmental leadership to ensure successful inter-departmental and interdisciplinary collaborations. Zoidis will also continue to focus on teaching and mentoring dental students in the preclinical and clinical areas, conducting research and working in the UF Health Dental Faculty Practice.

He joined the college in April 2017 as a clinical associate professor in the UF Department of Restorative Dental Sciences in the Division of Prosthodontics.

Zoidis was born in Athens, Greece. In 1992, he earned his dental degree from the Dental School of Athens National and Kapodistrian University and, in 2009, his doctoral degree in biomaterials. In 1996 he earned his certificate in prosthodontics and his master’s in oral biology from the Temple University School of Dentistry in Philadelphia.

He served in the Greek Navy as a prosthodontist from 1996 to 1998. His academic experience includes serving on faculty of the Dental School of Athens National and Kapodistrian University from 1996 through 2017. He has lectured extensively, has a diverse research background and he has a clinical focus on full mouth reconstructions, fixed and removable prosthodontics, implants, and treatment of temporomandibular disorder, or TMD.
