Domingoes Receives AADR Travel Grant

Emma DomingoesCongratulations to Emma Domingoes, in the UF College of Dentistry DMD Class of 2019, who was selected as one of 25 students nationally for the 2018 American Association for Dental Research, or AADR, Bloc Travel Grant.

Domingoes was chosen for the “scientific excellence” of an abstract she submitted on her research, “Clinical and Epidemiological Features of Oral Vesiculoulcerative Conditions – A Retrospective Analysis.” Her study involved retrospectively characterizing the clinical and epidemiological features of vesiculoulcerative conditions with an emphasis on identifying potential associations with other medical conditions such as cancer and arthritis. Domingoes’ research mentors are UFCD faculty members Marc Heft, D.M.D., M.A., Ph.D., and Joseph Katz, D.M.D.

The travel grant, supported by National Institutes of Health’s National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, pays for Domingoes’ travel to London, England, in July where she will present her abstract during the International Association for Dental Research/Pan European Regional Congress General Session & Exhibition.
