Welcoming New Faculty: Luisa Schertel Cassiano

Photo of Dr. Luisa CassianoLuisa Schertel Cassiano, D.D.S., M.S., joined the UF Department of Restorative Dental Sciences as a clinical assistant professor in the operative division in July 2017.

Cassiano is primarily focused on didactic, preclinical and clinical teaching for the predoctoral and the master’s in operative dentistry programs. In addition, she will work in the Faculty Dental Practice providing patient care.

She earned her dental degree in 2009 from the Federal University Rio Grande do Sul in Brazil; completed a certificate in periodontics and implant dentistry in 2012 at the Instituto de Ensino Pesquisa e Pos-Graduacao in Brasilia, Brazil; and her master’s in health sciences with a focus on periodontology in 2014 from the University of Brasilia. She began interning at UF for the Department of Restorative Dental Sciences in 2016 before joining the faculty.
