In July 2017, new faculty member Christopher Connell, D.M.D., joined the University of Florida Department of Pediatric Dentistry as a clinical assistant professor.
Prior to joining UF, Connell served as chief resident in the Department of Pediatric Dentistry for the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh. He earned his bachelor’s in nutritional sciences at UF in 2010 and then attended the Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine where he earned his dental degree in 2015 before completing a pediatric dental residency in 2017.
During his undergraduate, graduate and residencies, he worked as a teaching assistant at the universities he attended, which helped prepare him for a career in higher education. His major focus at the college will be teaching in predoctoral and graduate education, providing patient care in the Pediatric Dentistry Faculty Practice, and also helping cover operating room after-hours faculty supervision. In addition, he will perform clinical research and assist with mentoring residents who are pursuing research projects.
