UF Dentistry Names Richard Miller Senior Director of Advancement

Photo of Richard MillerRichard Miller has been named senior director of advancement for the UF College of Dentistry and will join the college on January 12. He will be responsible for identifying and cultivating major gifts for the college, formulating and implementing fundraising plans and policies, and building and managing relationships and programs that support UFCD alumni relations and development goals.

“As senior director of advancement, Rick will be working closely with UFCD leadership, faculty and staff to create and implement strategies for continued success as we leverage the recently-launched UF Foundation’s Go Greater Capital Campaign. I have every confidence in his ability to take UFCD to even higher levels of alumni and donor engagement, and I look forward to working with him,” said A. Isabel Garcia, D.D.S., M.P.H., dean of the college.

Miller has 10 years of experience in development at the University of Florida and Florida State University. He comes to the College of Dentistry from the UF Levin College of Law where he has served as the director of development since 2014 focusing on major gift fundraising.

Miller grew up in Inverness, Florida, and earned his bachelor’s in history from the University of Florida in 2005 and his master’s in sports administration in 2008 from Florida State University. Before beginning a career in development in higher education in 2008, Rick worked as a high school teacher in St. Petersburg.
