Esteban Mulkay, D.M.D., P.A., is a clinical associate professor in the UF Department of Community Dentistry and Behavioral Science who joined the college in June 2017.
Mulkay’s focus will primarily be clinical and didactic instruction in the UF Hialeah Dental Center as a team leader with students in the Advanced Education in General Dentistry program. In that role he will focus on patient care management, leading seminars, case presentation and oversight of student care delivery for patients.
Mulkay earned his dental degree from the UF College of Dentistry with the DMD class of 1978. Following graduation, he worked in private practice in south Florida and, throughout his career, has played a role in mentoring dental students, volunteering as a courtesy faculty member for the UF Hialeah Dental Center, and also serving as a guest lecturer with the college, the South Broward Dental Society and the Memorial Dental Study Club.
He has extensive experience with various dental technologies including Cerec, Invisilign, BioHorizon, Biomet 3I, Zimmer, Nobel, Astra, Straumann and Bicon systems. He has also studied occlusion and temporomandibular disorder at the Peter Dawson Institute.
Mulkay has also been very supportive of the college’s Academy of Alumni & Friends, including serving as a class leader since 2004. He is a member of the American Dental Association, the Florida Dental Association, the South Florida Dental Association, Academy of General Dentistry and the Pierre Fauchard Academy, in addition to other professional dental organizations.
