Managing Anxiety Today

On February 10, residents of the UF School of Advanced Dental Sciences, or SADS, enjoyed a presentation from Harold Shinitzky, Psy.D., who shared tactics and strategies for dealing with stress and anxieties in today’s climate. The college has a very multi-cultural environment with residents and fellows from the United States and throughout the world. When some of the advanced dental education residents expressed rising anxieties recently, Roberta Pileggi, D.D.S., M.S., associate dean for advanced education, arranged for the visit from Shinitzky who lectures extensively about mental health issues and interventions for managing anxiety.

“We were so grateful that Dr. Shinitzky was willing to travel to Gainesville on short notice to help share his insights with our residents and, based on feedback I received, many of them feel like they will be able to benefit from his insights,” said Pileggi.
