‘Tis the season for sharing with others and the University of Florida College of Dentistry’s Office of Education celebrates the season by doing just that. Each year they adopt a family through the UF Interdisciplinary Family Health (IFH) program. Instead of exchanging gifts with one another, the office adopts a family, shops for them and then has an annual wrapping party.
The IFH program was created in 1999 by a small group of faculty and students from the UF colleges of medicine, nursing and pharmacy. It has grown over the years to a more formal organization that now includes all first-year students in dentistry, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, and public health and health professions. The college’s freshman students take an IFH course along with about 600 other HSC students each year. For more information about the IFH, visit their web site.
