2012 Annual Holiday Tea and Service Pin Ceremony

The University of Florida College of Dentistry invited all students, faculty and staff to celebrate the holidays during the Annual Holiday Tea on Dec. 10. The event also included a Service Pin Ceremony to recognize staff who have reached five-years of service milestones with the University of Florida.

Many attendees brought gifts that were donated to children at the Boys & Girls Club of Alachua County. Among the gifts were many boxes of toothpaste and toothbrushes – what are the holidays at the College of Dentistry without a firm focus on oral health for kids?

Teresa A. Dolan, D.D.S., M.P.H., dean of the college, led the Service Pin Ceremony said spoke of the ‘tribal knowledge’ that long-term employees carry with them, “So often, the people with the tribal knowledge of our college are the ones we rely on to get something done right and done well.  Today we’re honoring people with 565 years of tribal knowledge. That’s truly valuable to our college and something I am honored to be able to recognize these dedicated staff members this afternoon.”
