Dr. Madhu Nair, chair of the newly established Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences, has been awarded a state-of-the-art, high resolution Cone Beam Volumetric CT scanner in the form of an equipment grant from PracticeWorks Systems LLC (Kodak) in support of his research activities.

This limited field-of-view CT scanner is capable of producing the highest resolution 3D images among all currently available CT scanners. The unit will greatly enhance the clinical imaging capabilities of the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences at the College. Currently, several clinical research projects are in progress in the department. Significant advantages of this unit include limited area CT scans, lower radiation dose, and ultra-fast image formation (in seconds).

Congratulations to Dr. Nair and the OMDS Department.
