Promotions & Tenure Announced
Indraneel Bhattacharyya, D.D.S., M.S.D.
Bhattacharyya was awarded tenure and promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences. He earned his B.D.S. in India, his D.D.S. from the University of Nebraska, Lincoln, and his M.S.D. at the Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. He joined the college in 2003.
L. Jeannine Brady, Ph.D.
Brady was promoted to Professor in the Department of Oral Biology. She earned her Ph.D. at the University of Florida and has been with the college for 20 years. Brady was also recently recognized for her achievements in mentoring graduate students.
Josephine Esquivel-Upshaw, D.M.D., M.S.
Esquivel was awarded tenure in the Department of Prosthodontics. She earned her dental degree from the University of the Philippines in Manila, and her masters of science in Prosthodontics from Northwestern University in Evanston, Ill. Esquivel also previously served as a member of the UF College of Dentistry faculty from 1994 to 2001.
Nancy Jacobson, D.M.D.
Jacobson was promoted to Clinical Associate Professor, effective July 1. Jacobson earned her D.M.D. at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She has professional experience in both private practice and academia, and has served as Assistant Director of the college’s Jacksonville Dental Clinic since 1999.
Roberta Pileggi, D.D.S., M.S.
Pileggi was awarded tenure and promoted to Associate Professor in the Department of Endodontics. She was also appointed Graduate Program Director of the Graduate Endodontic Program. Pileggi received her D.D.S. from the Universidade Paulista in Brazil, her M.S. and Certificate in Endodontics from the University of Maryland in College Park, and Educational Scholars Fellowship Program at the Baylor College of Medicine and University of Texas at Houston.
New Faculty Member
Gary Plymale, D.D.S.
Plymale has been appointed Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Prosthodontics. He received his D.D.S. and Certificate in Prosthodontics and Maxillofacial Prosthodontics from Indiana University School of Dentistry in Indianapolis. Plymale previously served as a preclinical instructor, course director and clinical professor at the Indiana University School of Dentistry.
