Echeto receives FDA’s Educator of the Year Award

Luisa F. Echeto, D.D.S., M.S., a clinical assistant professor in the UF College of Dentistry’s Department of Prosthodontics, recently received the Florida Dental Associations Dental Educator Award.
 
Echeto was nominated by student members of the Class of 2010 based on her “outstanding contributions to the quality of dental education.” Echeto received her award during the annual American Student Dental Association (ASDA) banquet in April in Gainesville, Fla.
 
Echeto serves as the college’s Predoctoral Prosthodontics Program Director, and provides clinical and preclinical instruction in the Prosthodontics area. She earned her dental degree from Universidad Central de Venezuela in Caracas, Venezuela, in 1997, and completed her Prosthodontics training and Masters at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2002. Echeto joined the University of Florida in 2003.
