During a lunch ceremony on March 3 at the Savannah Grande Reception & Conference Center, these four UF College of Dentistry employees received a Division Five Superior Accomplishment Award (SAA) from the University of Florida.

The SAA program recognizes UF staff members who contribute outstanding and meritorious service, efficiency and/or economy, or to the quality of life provided to students and employees.

The Division Five SAA Committee, which coordinates the program for the Health Science Center, received 87 nominations for Superior Accomplishment Awards and awarded 39 to staff from various HSC colleges. In selecting award winners the committee looks for nominees who demonstrate excellence in overall job performance; outstanding service to students, staff, academic personnel, visitors, and university clientele; a willingness to assist beyond normal expectations; dedication to the job and the university; consistent cooperation and helpfulness; and initiative and/or creativity in performing assigned duties.

Division-level winners receive a $200 cash award and two SAA coffee mugs – one for the winner, one for the person that nominated them. Division level winners also go on to compete at the university level. University level awards are announced during a ceremony on April 22 at the Reitz Union.
