Koutouzis receives AAIDRF grant award

Theofilos Koutouzis, D.D.S., M.S., recently received an American Academy of Implant Dentistry Research Foundation (AAIDRF) Award in order to complete his research project “Comparative Soft and Hard Tissue Responses to Titanium and Polymer Healing abutments.”

The award of $2,000, plus $500 for travel expenses to present the findings during a meeting, was also sponsored in part by Straumann.

Koutouzis graduated from Aristotle University of Thessaloniki Greece with a D.D.S. and completed a residency and an M.Sc. in Periodontology at Sahlgrenska Academy at Goteborg University Sweden. He joined the UF College of Dentistry in 2006 as a visiting assistant professor and in January 2007 as an assistant professor in the Department of Periodontology.
