Counseling & Wellness Center serves to facilitate the total development of students by reducing psychological problems and distress and by enhancing mental health, well-being, quality of life, and optimal functioning, through the delivery of high quality, culturally sensitive services to UF students and the larger campus community. Our primary focus is on providing brief, confidential counseling aimed at helping students succeed academically and interpersonally.
Multicultural & Diversity Affairs is a department within the Division of Student Affairs. It provides a wide range of services, educational opportunities, learning, support, outreach, activities and engagement for students. Multicultural & Diversity Affairs is a collective collaboration between the Institute of Black Culture; Institute of Hispanic-Latino Culture; LGBT Affairs; Asian Pacific Islander American Affairs; and Intercultural Engagement.
Institute of Black Culture promotes and affirms Black culture, history, leadership, and scholarship. The IBC coordinates a variety of cultural, social, and educational programs focused on the Black experience at the University of Florida, in the United States, and across the Diaspora. Institute of Hispanic-Latino Culture advocates on behalf of Hispanic Latina/o populations and offers support to the University of Florida and the Gainesville community through various programs, resources, and networking opportunities in order to help facilitate cultural awareness, social justice, and empowerment. “La Casita” was established in 1994 and is the first institute of its kind in the south eastern United States, focusing on the empowerment of the Hispanic Latina/o community through Advocacy, Education, and Outreach.
LGBT Affairs strives to educate, advocate, and support LGBTQA people and issues at the University of Florida and in the Gainesville community. Through student-centered programming, outreach, community building and advocacy, we are committed to creating a safe and developmentally supportive and affirming campus-community for students, staff, faculty, and alumni of all sexual orientations, gender identities and expressions.
Asian Pacific Islander American Affairs aims to promote awareness of APIA issues throughout the UF community, advocate for the needs of APIA students, and assist in the personal development of students by providing services and resources in the following four areas: Leadership Development, Educational Programming, Advocacy for Asian American studies, and an Alumni/Student Mentoring network.

U Matter, We Care extends UF’s caring culture by educating our community about signs and symptoms of distress and provides students and employees in distress with the appropriate resources. U Matter, We Care is an umbrella for care-related programs and resources for students and employees. The J. Wayne Reitz Student Union provides a number of services from barber shop, to food services, art gallery, and a plethora of programs with guest performers, advanced movie screenings, and so much more. The mission of the J. Wayne Reitz Union is to create meaningful college experiences for students and to enrich the campus community by providing dynamic learning opportunities, premier programs, quality services, and outstanding facilities.
University of Florida students, faculty, and staff may ride Regional Transit System public transportation fare-free by presenting their Gator 1 card. RTS offers multiple bus routes on campus with service to every area of the University, as well as routes to all points of the City of Gainesville. The TransLoc Gator Locator allows anyone to track buses through the use of GPS technology.
