Programs for Current D.M.D. Students

Peer Mentor Program (Big/Little Program)

DentalSimLab_0127

The Big Brother/Big Sister Program is a peer mentorship program in which each member of the incoming class is paired with a second-year student. A first-year student’s “Big” will help ensure that the transition into dental school is a smooth one.

This program is designed to answer questions, from determining the appropriate dress code and effectively studying for classes to finding your way around Gainesville.

Peer Tutoring Program

Any student may request a tutor at no charge. Tutors are generally third and fourth year students who excel in their academic coursework.

Specialized Counseling

The Office of Student and Multicultural Affairs provides personal and academic counseling to D.M.D. students. We offer a series of workshops including topics such as:

  • Stress management
  • Time management
  • Crisis intervention
  • Suicide prevention
  • Eating disorders
