UFCD launched teledentistry in March to meet the needs of patients through COVID-19 and beyond.

The AAWD chapter hosted more than 30 community service and social events last school year.

In 2005, more than a third of children from low-income families in Collier and surrounding counties had no access to basic dental care.

Tomar was recognized at the Opening Ceremonies of IADR/AADR/CADR in Vancouver, BC, Canada, on June 19.

Each month, Gator Dentists Dr. Alan Fetner and his wife, Dr. Mary Hartigan, travel from Jacksonville to work alongside residents and predoctoral students in UFCD's periodontology and prosthodontics center.

The chapter coordinated two community service events focused on promoting oral hygiene to second and third graders at the Alachua County Boys and Girls Club, and to high school students at Hawthorne High School.

The two colleges will collaborate to improve health care for vulnerable populations while providing valuable learning opportunities for students.

Dr. Thomas L. Bowers IV, UFCD clinical assistant professor and undergraduate program director, performed the commissioning ceremony.

Beginning January 1, 2019, Healthcare Network of Southwest Florida will transition administration of the center over to UFCD. All oral health care services and educational programs will remain the same.
