Biosketch & Research Interests
Dr. Katkar received her B.D.S. (Bachelor of Dental Surgery) degree from Maharashtra University of Health Sciences, India, in 2003, followed by one year of rotatory internship. During this course she received numerous awards for academic excellence. She completed a master’s degree program (M.D.S.) in Oral Medicine and Radiology from Nagpur University, India in 2008. She received a master’s degree (M.S.) in Stomatology with a Certificate of advanced education in Oral & Maxillofacial Radiology from the University of Iowa in 2011.
Dr. Katkar joined the University of Florida College of Dentistry in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Diagnostic Sciences in 2012. She is actively involved in the department’s large teleradiology practice as well as teaching undergraduate and graduate students. She has presented at various national and international conferences.
Her main research interests include digital radiography, Cone beam CT and its use in 3D Cephalometry.
